Two second half goals seal first win of 2009

Following two weeks of abandoned games due to frozen pitches, The Blues were fired up for a game and trained well midweek. Ongar faced Emblem C a team they had beaten 4-0 earlier in the season. Without the injured Nari. Ongar started well and played some really nice passing football in the first half. A shot by James was recovered by the Emblem keeper just on the line, followed by the ball hitting the emblem post from a Fillingham shot. As in the previous encounter half time came with no score. No changes at half time for the Blues and Ongar started well putting pressure on the opponents going close a few times after some really good passing moves. Finally the deadlock was broken with a stunning 25yard shot from James going straight in the top corner.(see video of both goals below) With ten minutes to go Kurtis came on to replace littlegunny as sweeper. New signing Henry was on the bench today. Great performances by Jacob,Ben F,Lewis and James helped secure yet another win for the blues.Lewis's patience in the attack led to him scoring and Ongars' second securing the 3 points. Captain: James Coaches Man of the match : Lewis
