Rematch evenly matched

Ongar Juniors B faced Intersport C today, the only team that have taken points against Ongar this season. Ongar started well and for the first part of the match didn't let Intersport out of their own half. Lewis Snell had two chances that went wide and Reed Hudgell went close only to be saved by the opponent's keeper. Intersport created a couple of chances late in the first half and hit the crossbar following a couple of corners. Second half was as evenly matched as the first and solid performances by Ben Fillingham and Kurtis James prevented the visitors scoring. A late free kick saw Ben Fillingham go close but the referee finished the game.
Final Score 0-0.

Cup dream over for the Blues

Ongar Juniors faced Hutton A in today's cup game, Hutton currently sit mid table in Chelmsford Division one. Ongar started well but Hutton piled on the presure in the first part of the game and Ben the Ongar Keeper responded well to an early attack by the Hutton No.4. Ongar responded well and came close, only being stopped by a great takle stopping littlegunny shot from hitting the target. The Ongar No.1 was called to duty again a few more time in the first half and every time responded very well. Half time came and all was level. 0-0
Second half Hutton were a lot more dominant with the ball but again found it hard to penitrate the ongar defence. Huttons No.4 was the difference between the two teams today and his early pick up of the ball in the Ongar half and a great solo run slotting the ball past Ben the keeper settled the match, making it 1-0. Ongar never really bothered the Hutton goal until the last few seconds of the game when Lewis came very close. The Blues are out of the cup now but put up a valiant fight against a well drilled and skilled team. Well done to both teams and the supporters for a respectful game. Ongar Captain:- Ben F
Ongar Man of the Match. Ben H. stunning display in the Ongar goal.
