Away win takes Blues top

Ongar Juniors Played away today at Emblem Youth and Travelled to Rainham,
The rain was coming down steadily as the game kicked off and the ball control matched the weather, both teams were unable to gather control of the ball for any amount of time. in the tenth minute little gunny picked the Ball up on the edge of the box took one touch and drill it hard and low in the bottom corner. Lewis had a couple of half chances following that but nothing came of them, them on the 16th minute little gunny found himself one on one with Emblem 's no 16 and little gunny slotted the ball past the Keeper. half time came 2-0.

Second half the blues thought they should have been able to score a few more but the presence of the big no3 on the emblem attack made them aware that they were possibly risking giving away a goal.but is the 7th minute of the second half a cross from Lewis deflected in the empty net making it 3-0. Ongar a had a few more chances with Nari, Jake, Lewis and Littlegunny all going close but the 4th came from James cleanly stuck as usual with James.
A great Game once again played in the correct spirit. well done all the boys and coaches. Ongar Man of the match:- Two weeks on the bounce, Littlegunny

Blues make hard work of 3-0 win

Ongar Juniors faced Harold Court today on a nice bright sunny sunday. The team in yellow started well and pushed the blues back into thier own half for the first few minutes, creating the first chance with a shot over the bar.
Ongar started to move the ball around well but couldn't manage to get the ball into the final part of the pitch. Little gunny headed wide from a well delivered corner by Lewis. Lewis went near with a solo chance but the Harold Court keeper kept it out. Little gunny went close again with a hard low left footed shot just going wide of the upright. half time 0-0
Second half and the blues came out with a bit more determination and were creating some good chances early on,Ben and Kurtis kept it tight across the back. Lewis opened the scoring with a great strikers goal pouncing on a loose ball following a cross by little gunny. A change to the team line up saw Nari come on and within 20 seconds was on the score sheet with a great breakaway solo run slotting the ball past the keeper. Little gunny made it 3 with an easy tap in following a melee in the boxA great Game and well played by all the boys in both teams

Last Minute Goal clinches points

Ongar Juniors B travelled to Sawyers hall lane today to face a familiar team from last years league, Great Danes B were our opponents. Ongar started well and within a few minutes were attacking the Danes goal, Nari and Lewis both going close. The Danes played some nice football and a number of their players moved the ball around really well, but never really bothering Ben in the Ongar goal. Ongar hit the crossbar midway through the first half beating the keeper but not enough to count, moments later Nari's shot was stopped by the Great Danes replacement keeper but he took the ball over the line 1-0. Great Danes replied and just before the break scored from a corner. 1-1
Second half and the whites came out looking like they wanted to win and almost straight away scored from another corner finished with a great header. 2-1 Great Danes. Ongar fought back well and there was a succession of attacks but every shot went wide or over, until Nari strength once again powered him past their defence and smashing the ball into the roof of the net, 2-2. Ten minutes to go and the game was getting tense with attacks going on at both ends one of which was an attack one on one with Ben in the Ongar goal and him pulling off the save of the game which was applauded by everybody watching. By now both teams were tyring and the tackles getting sloppy, with little gunny getting pulled down just outside the Great Danes box. Free kick. Lewis steps up as blasts it into the net. Ongar 3 - 2 Great Danes and almost straight after the kick off the final whistle went.
A great game from both sets of players. Well done to all the boys !!

Two more hatricks see OJ's through to next round.

Ongar Juniors travelled to Doddinghurst today and faced the B side who are in the same league as Ongar. The rain was falling quite hard when the game kicked off looking like it might spoil the game but Ongar got straight on with it and going close early on.

Nari shot wide after 5 minutes and straight after Lewis made a solo run from his own half down the right side and shot across the keeper. 1-0 plenty more chances came Ongar's way but not until just before the half time whistle did Nari make it 2-0. Second half and Ongar really started to knock the ball around well as the game opened up. With Nari and Lewis both shooting at every opportunity. The defence line of Kurtis and Ben really held out well with Ben the keeper being kept safe by them, giving him hardly anything to do.

Ongar went on to score another 5 goals in the second half with Lewis on his second hatrick of the season getting 3 today and Nari scored 4 making a comfortable win for Ongar and through to the next round of the cup. Doddinghurst never gave up and I'm sure they will get better as the season goes on.
