Intersports C Away

Ongar Juniors were away at Intersports this week, both teams have an unbeaten start to the season, despite Intersport only having played 1 game with Ongar having scored 15 and conceded none.It was all set to be a great game. From the kick off Ongar were straight on the attack, Playing in the Grey away kit they were up for a game with a shot being saved by the keeper in the first minute, two minutes later Nari slotted the ball into the intersport net to make it 1-0. Intersport didn't give up and two minutes later were level with a great finish by the no.9. Ongar continued to pressure intersport and Nari should of had a hat full of goals but just could not hit the final ball. Half time 1-1.

Second half Ongar Juniors continued to apply the pressure and again should of scored more. Lewis replaced Nari but even Lewis could not find that final touch to take the lead. Lewis did however hit the woodwork close to the end but Intersport came back hitting our upright following a fine save by Ben. Intersport shot the ball across the Ongar goal a few time but again they could not finish the game off. From a spectators view it was a great game played from end to end, with plenty of close chances. Congratulations to all the boys and parents who all behaved impeccably well, a close game but Ongar will look at it as 2 points dropped.

Final score 1-1

Ongar Juniors B 5 - 0 Doddinghurst Olympic
Ongar Juniors B team continued their great start to the season with another great win. This week saw a new team only playing their second competitive game. Doddinghurst Olympic C in their yellow and Green strip started the game but within a few seconds Nari went close and only minutes later littlegunny was attempting to tackle their keeper. The attacks continued until the deadlock was broken by Nari with a low struck shot in the bottom corner. Ongar went close a few more times, then halfway through the half Littlegunny struck a shot lobbing the keeper and making it 2-0. Ongar could have had more had it not been for the Doddinghurst keeper.
Second half Ben and Jacob came on replacing Reid and Curtis. Jacob made some impressive runs down the right wing and Lewis on the left made life for the yellows very tough, as it was only a matter of time before the blues scored again. Corner from Jacob, headed straight in the back of the net by Littlegunny. James worked his socks off keeping Ongar on top, this led to Nari and Lewis both scoring before the end of the game. Well played both teams.
Coaches Man of the Match:- James for his hard work through the game
