Ongar Juniors showed what they were really made of today by finishing runners up in a six teamed tournament hosted by Colebrook Royals FC at the Met Police Ground at Chigwell.
First up the Blues played Langdon Lions and it was a 0-0 draw, second game was aginst East Thurruck and they drew 1-1 with our goal by Nari.
Third game against Develop FC this was another 0-0 draw. Next up were Belmont Juniors and after a stunning goal from the half way line from Ben Fillingham the Blues won 1-0.First up the Blues played Langdon Lions and it was a 0-0 draw, second game was aginst East Thurruck and they drew 1-1 with our goal by Nari.
With 5 points, a win against Jay's Boys would put them into the final. From the kick off Ben Fillingham hit another cracking shot from insde his own half only to be saved by the Jays keeper, but then dropped it into the path of James Bushell who knocked it in the net. 1-0, in reply the Jay's hit straight back with a quick counter attack.1-1 a draw might be enough, but just to make it tough on the Blues the Jay's boys scored again. Final score 1-2. After the final scores were in. Ongar went through to the final on goal difference.
The final was against Develop FC. 8 minutes of Football could not seperate the teams and at the end of full time, the game went to penalties. Both teams nervous and in the centre circle. 4 penalties to be taken each and it went 3-3. finally Develop FC won in Sudden death.
Well done to all the boys.
