Brentwood Sports (Away)
Today saw the Ongar Juniors B team on the road, destination Larchwood Gardens, to face Brentwood Sports B the team that has seven of little Gunny's class mates in. The Ongar team started well with good possession down the right wing, the game evened out and Brentwood had a few breakaway chances with Harry S slotting one past the Ongar keeper. 1-0.
A few minutes later saw a solid shot from Harry P deflect off an Ongar defender making it 2-0. The Ongar team kept their heads up and didn't give in. Owen came on half way through the half and went into the left back position. The Blues had a few breaks but they came to nothing. Half time 2-0.

Second half saw the Blues attacking much better than the first and only the bravery of Harry T in the Sports goal prevented the Blues pulling one back sooner. The game continued on faily evenly, until Lewis and Nari made a good combination with Lewis slotting the ball away, 2-1. Ben the "Cat" in the Ongar goal lived up to his name with some great saves in the second half but could do nothing to stop Brentwood's third which was smashed into the roof of the net by Harry S, 3-1. All in all a very entertaining game enjoyed by a large crowd on a very sunny February morning. A fairly even match but the scoreline wasn't refective of the game, it should have been closer.
Captain:- James
Ongar Man of the Match :- Ben H, never stopped trying till the end and made some great saves.

Great Danes 10.2.08
From the whistle the GreatDanes A team were attacking the Ongar Goal, and they didn't let off, Great Danes first goal was scored from 20 yards after getting the ball straight from a goal kick, lobbing the keeping giving him no chance. The second came shortly after from a corner, probably the best goal I have seen all season in this league, great header. Ongars heads started to go down and soon it was 3 with a goal nicked by the no8. After conseeding another just before half time Ongar went in with a 4-0 deficit. following a talk at half time, the boys came out determined to have a better second half, the blues held on faily well shutting down most of their attacks and Ben H in goal pulled off some saves that prevented Great Danes making dogs out of the Ongar Boys. Owen managed to have a collision with the goal post in true Sol Cambell fashion, but preventing yet another goal. Great Danes managed to get one more before the end making it 5-0
Great Danes knocked the ball about and all looked confident on the ball.
Captain : Ben F
Man of the Match : Owen

Great Danes B (Away)
Pre match warm up was the highlight of todays game with todays captain Ben H pulling off some cracking saves.
Ongar started in the familiar fashion with the opposition having the ball to themselves for 10 minutes, even managing to get a headed goal by their striker. Silly mistakes in the Ongar box let the Danes get a second soon after 2-0. James B had a great shot from the edge of the box fooling the keeper to make it 2-1, Owen Had a chance to make it level with a great left footed effort from 10 yards but hitting the woodwork in true Ongar Juniors style.
An injury to Kurtis forced a substitution with Ongar bringing on Ben F.Second half started much the same as the first with the home team having the ball and scoring another from a mistake at the back taking the tally to 3-1. Ongar continued to make breaking counter attackes but without luck until Nari scored another of his break away solo goal. Lewis worked hard all day but never getting a good chance to put the ball away.
Final Score Great Danes B 3 - 2 Ongar Juniors
Captain : Ben H.
Man of the Match: Lewis
