Hartswood Stars (Home)

Ongar started well this week with a couple of early chances before the Hartswood stars had a succession of corner kicks, The Blues were never really under threat but could not clear their lines, after 7 corners the Ongar team broke away and with Nari and Lewis linking up well, with Nari putting the ball in the back of the net, proving his strength and determination against a fairly solid defence. Half Time 1-0 Second half started with football being played up and down the pitch, Hartswood had a good on target shot well saved by Ben "the cat", the game continued with Ongar attacking, Nari through and tripped just outside the box.
Ben F places the ball, steps up and strikes the ball cleanly into the top corner, giving the Hartwood's keeper no chance.

Lewis came close when he hit the woodwork which would have finished off the game for the stars.
Ongar made a change taking off Lewis, in the Benitez style rotation system, bringing on the new signing Jacob who came to the B team for an undisclosed fee. Insiders believe the fee was as much as a packet of wine gums and half a can of Coke.... but this cannot be substantiated. An injury late in the game to the Captain Owen resulted in him being taken off and replaced with Lewis. Nari finished the game by making a few storming runs through the Hartswood defence claiming his title as man of the match.
Ongar Remain unbeaten in 2008
Final score Ongar Juniors B 2-0 Hartswood Stars
Captain : Owen

Hutton (Away)

Ongar Started in the familiar way by letting the opposition have the ball for the first 5 minutes of the game. within the first 90 seconds Owen saved the team from being 1-0 down with a great clearance off the line, even though he was playing in the right half position. The game evened out with a few break away chances from Lewis and Nari eventually leading to Nari scoring a great breakaway solo goal, taking the ball from the halfway line and slotting the ball past the Hutton keeper. Just before the break Hutton equalized with a good goal from a tight angle by the Hutton Striker.

Half time 1-1 the score. Ongar make a change and bring on James and take off Owen. Kurtis had a solid first half which he continued through the second half. The rest of the game was fairly evenly matched with Hutton having plenty of possession but never troubling Ben H in the Ongar goal. Final Score Hutton 1 - 1 .Ongar Juniors B

Captain: Lewis

Coaches Man of the Match: Kurtis

Ongar Juniors 'A' vs Ongar Juniors 'B'

Following the Christmas break Ongar Juniors B had an away fixture against their closest team, Ongar Juniors A, the B Team Played in the Black away kit
The 2 teams payed respect to Elizabeth 'lizzie' Cooke the 7 year old girl from Blackmore who died on Boxing day following a quad bike accident. Ongar A Started well and camped in the B teams half for the first 10 minutes. The defence held strong ,then Louis and Nari had a couple of break away attacks that slowed the A team down, half time 0-0
Second half was much the same as the first but the game was end to end with Louis Snell coming closest with a shot from the right side just going into the side netting, The A team looked dangerous down both wings but between Owen(playing in shirt 14), Ben (2), Nari and James(11) they managed to block out every attack they put together.

the game was well balanced with the A team playing the better passing game but the B team had a stronger defence, and the desire to win, Nari and Louis up Front put together some great attacks just never actually finishing. Fair result.
Final Score Ongar 'A' 0 - 0 Ongar 'B'
